4266 and 4268 updates on July 24-25, 2021
Saturday George
Small, Cory Fothergill, Eric Grover, Jordan Small and LarryKemp painted the
newly installed panels on 4266. Vinyl lettering will be reapplied to those
panels next weekend so 4266 can return to service. The 4266 will come in for
more body work after fall and be completely painted over the winter. Anything
that isn’t painted now will be cleaned up and waxed to make the unit more
presentable. On Saturday Ryan Fothergill welded in the rest of the rotted walls
in 4268, fabricated mounts for load regulator, fabricated sheet metal plates
for around the control stand and on the 4266 replaced the rear step for
crossing between units. Wayne Allen completed the copper piping to the rear of
the 4268 that connects the fuel gauge in the rear to the air supply near the
compressor control. On Sunday Mark Gray wired aux generator, voltage
regulator and more of the wiring in the rear of 4268.
