Ryan Fothergill worked on
removing rotted battery box compartments on the fireman’s side of 1741. The
metal is so rotted it will need to be replaced from the frame up, material has
been ordered to complete the task.
Wayne Allen and Cory Fothergill worked on 4268. Two cylinders on the rear stack have had lower compression since we put the locomotive back in service . Cylinder 9 and 11 were both pulled apart and are undergoing repair. Cylinder 9 had a broken ring and very worn rings however the liner looks to be in great shape.
