A view you don’t see everyday . Today (8/13) we installed new
batteries into the 4268 on the fireman's side. This loco has run one used
battery and one new battery since we put it back into service. It was decided
by the trustees it was time to get a second new set to prevent having to charge
the unit periodically to start. With the new batteries installed, 4268 started
right up no issues! We had both 4266 and 4268 in service today. They powered
the 3:30 valley train to conway and back with the 573 along for the ride.
Several small repairs were made to both units . More for another weekend.
